Donald Trump made another attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins on Tuesday, saying she is “very dumb and unhappy” on his social media platform, Truth Social.
The president’s full remarks read:
Very dumb and unhappy Fake News CNN “reporter,” Kaitlan Collins (really low ratings, also!), had a panel where discussions were all FICTION AND LIES. You would think that CNN, which is suffering terribly in the TV Ratings, would get rid of their 3rd rate “anchors,” and try to bring credibility back to their once storied network. It is fading FAST! See you all at the Republican National Convention tomorrow night!!! President DJT
Collins hosted a special episode of The Source called “Countdown to Election Night” on Monday before the November midterms.
The show included Republican strategist Doug Heye, New York Times reporter Shawn McCreesh, NOTUS correspondent Jasmine Wright, and Ashley Etienne, who once worked as the communications director for former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Later in the show, a panel discussion featured CNN’s David Chalian and Paul Begala, along with Kevin Madden, who helped run Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns.
Heye specifically criticized the president for not using his political money to help Republican candidates, saying, “Donald wants to spend money on himself.
He doesn’t want to give things away.”
Trump has been targeting Collins with personal attacks recently.
In December, he called her “Stupid” and “Nasty” on Truth Social. In June, he called her a “corrupt reporter” with “hatred in her eyes” and said she never smiles. At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in July, Trump told Collins to “smile!” and compared her to transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. He later posted a fake image of Collins looking like Mulvaney.
A CNN spokesperson told Mediaite, “Kaitlan Collins is an exceptional journalist, reporting every day from the White House and the field with real depth and tenacity.
She skillfully brings that reporting to the anchor chair and CNN platforms every day, which audiences around the world know they can trust.”
