“You know, I caught just a little bit of his speech from the last time he was out here,” Buttigieg said at a recent rally in Ohio for gubernatorial candidate Amy Acton and Rep.Greg Landsman.”He stood with a straight face, I’m not making this up, and said it was becoming easier to buy a home these days.Makes me wonder what planet he is living on, let alone what housing market he’s living in!”
“I’m sure it got easier for him to find a new place,” Buttigieg added.
“I heard about this $9 million estate he’s moving into out over the ridge past the Washington, D.C.suburbs, but here in Ohio, nearly half of renters are paying more than they can afford.”
Vance and his family recently moved into two of the four residences on the Wolver Hill Farm estate, a huge $9 million property that covers about 500 acres.
Most worryingly, Vance did not buy the property — even though he could have, since he has made a lot of money by working with tech billionaires like Peter Thiel and selling books to the MAGA crowd — but instead leased it from Chuck Kuhn, a very rich data-center developer.From top to bottom, Vance is connected to these tech billionaires.
While Vance’s lawyer says he’s paying “market value” for the lease, the details of the deal have been kept secret.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Kuhn was giving Vance a big discount, or maybe not paying anything at all.Billionaires realized long ago that the best way to bribe Republican politicians is with special deals, backroom deals, and gifts.
“Mortgage rates are up, and housing construction has slowed down,” Buttigieg continued in his speech, criticizing Vance for being out of touch.
“This isn’t by accident — it’s the direct result of the Trump-Vance administration.Manufacturing jobs are down since they took power.The economy is slowing instead of speeding up.Interest rates are way too high, and they are making things worse, and I’m here to tell you, it doesn’t have to be this way.”
“We don’t have to put up with this,” the former Transportation Secretary said.
“We don’t have to put up with these policies, or these politicians, or the system that has created them.We can chase out corruption and make sure we have leaders who actually respond to the people.”
The simple truth is that Republican politicians don’t care about your economic struggles.
They can be relied on only to serve the highest bidder, and in Vance’s case, it’s the far-right groups coming out of Silicon Valley.Right-wing policies have lowered wages and given the housing market to greedy companies and speculators.They are to blame for the collapse of the American Dream, and the only way to bring it back is by voting them out of power!”
