For more than a month, Trump and his supporters have been spreading wild conspiracy theories about fake antifa vandals who supposedly caused huge damage to the Reflecting Pool by making deep cuts, called “350-foot gashes,” ruining a $14 million paint job that was done in a hurry and not very well.
Now that the pool has been drained again, we can clearly see that the only damage on the bottom of the pool came from when Trump’s motorcade drove over it, for no clear reason.
It seems there’s a good reason we use asphalt for roads and not just paint the ground blue.
“As a retired tile installer with 44 years of experience, I was horrified to see President Donald Trump in his heavy, armored SUV, along with a dozen other security vehicles, driving across the newly resurfaced Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool to ‘inspect it,’” says someone who knows a thing or two about this.
“Driving a vehicle over a hydrostatic coating meant to hold water is never acceptable.
The weight and pressure from the armored cars will definitely tear and peel the freshly coated surface,” writes Brian Walkowiak in a letter to the Tampa Bay Times.
Anyone with a basic understanding could have figured this out, but it looks like the President doesn’t even have that much common sense, and all his loyal followers are too scared to tell him otherwise.
He should be made to pay back every dollar of the repair costs from his own money, and then the rest of his wealth should be taken as part of a criminal operation.
