After Governor Hochul signed a law that limits ICE activities and stops masked agents from operating in her state, Thomas Homan, who leads Trump’s group of supporters, promised to take revenge. Now, he’s planning to bring a large number of ICE agents to New York City, right before the World Cup, to harm people who are celebrating the world’s diversity.
Homan said, “I made her a promise: you’re going to see more ICE agents in New York City than ever before, and it’s coming.”
“I just reviewed an operational plan.”
Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who is known for his strong leadership, has clearly stated that his administration will fight against ICE at every step and has made it clear that ICE does not belong in New York City.
He wrote on Twitter, “Soccer wouldn’t exist without immigrants.
Immigrants play and coach the game, work at the stadiums, fill the stands, and make events like the World Cup possible. Six of the players on the US Men’s National Team are immigrants.”
“We will not let ICE or anyone else spread fear in our communities — especially now.
As the world comes to our city, we will stand proudly with our immigrant neighbors and reject these attacks for what they are: an attempt to divide us.”
People from all over the world will soon be coming to New York City for the World Cup.
If Trump and Homan get their way, they won’t be able to enjoy the beauty of the nation’s most diverse city. Instead, they’ll be targeted and treated badly by masked individuals who want to show the dark side of America’s racist government.
