According to a new Wall Street Journal report, Donald Trump, who avoided the draft during the Vietnam War five times, has been seriously thinking about giving himself the nation’s highest military honor, the Medal of Honor.
Inside White House, sources say that as Trump grows more anxious about the mess he created with Iran, where he’s now stuck in a difficult situation, he has often brought up the idea of giving himself the award.
He jokingly claims he deserves it for flying into Iraq on a dark runway during his first term in office.
(We should also remember that Melania was on that trip with him.
Does she get a medal too?)
This is the same man who was so unpredictable and unstable that his own military advisers kept him out of the command room during a major rescue mission for an American soldier who had been shot down, worried that his anger could mess up the operation.
Trump has talked about this before, telling a crowd in Georgia that he asked his team if he could give himself the Congressional Medal of Honor because he was “extremely brave.”
Nothing really shows “bravery” like trying to put the country’s top military award on your own chest for simply being a passenger landing in a secure area.
With your wife.
As Trump gets more stuck in his Iran problem, his long-time self-centeredness, confusion, and fantasies are acting as a way to protect himself, which is why he has been acting so crazy lately.
His lack of connection to reality has gotten so bad that he believes he should be honored as a war hero for doing nothing while he tells America’s real heroes to go into danger in Iran.
