One of the few things that seems to occupy the president’s confused mind is medals, particularly why he hasn’t received them all. He often talks about the Medal of Honor and believes he deserves one, even though he has never served in the military and even dodged service when he was young.
His fixation on the medal came up again today during a campaign event, where he nostalgically recalled how he gave a big gift, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, to wealthy donor Miriam Adelson for helping him trick the American people into voting for him.
“I have to say, Miriam, I saw Sheldon looking so proud in the White House when we awarded Miriam the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
That’s the highest honor for a civilian. It’s like the Congressional Medal of Honor, but for civilians.”
You can guess where this is headed.
“It’s actually much better because everyone gets the Congressional Medal of Honor. That’s for soldiers. They’re either seriously injured from being shot or they’re dead. She gets it, and she’s a healthy, beautiful woman. They’re considered equal.”
It’s truly shocking to hear him compare the brave men and women who risked their lives and well-being for this country to an Israeli woman who spent millions to support a traitor and damage this country.
They are in no way “equal,” and it’s disgraceful that he would even think that, much less say it out loud. But we all know Trump doesn’t care about our troops, and he particularly looks down on those who have been hurt or killed – calling them suckers and losers.
