On Thursday night, the Late Show came to an end after Donald Trump pressured the wealthy owners of Paramount into shutting it down. Trump celebrated by sharing AI-made memes of himself tossing Stephen Colbert into the trash.
However, the celebration didn’t last long as Colbert quickly returned to television, showing that he wouldn’t be easily silenced.
He hosted a public access show in Monroe County, featuring surprise guests like musician Jack White, actors Steve Buscemi and Jeff Daniels, and rapper Eminem. Colbert mentioned from the studio, “It’s been a tough 23 hours without being on TV, so I’m thankful to be here on Monroe Community Media before they get bought by Paramount too.” Whatever he decides to do next, we can be sure his humor and charm will continue to entertain us—and annoy the president!
