Donald Trump gave the country another look at what he’s really thinking about the midterms — and Massachusetts Democratic Senator Ed Markey isn’t waiting to speak out.
On Thursday night, during a major speech, Trump brought up his false claims from the 2020 election, saying the same hidden groups he said took the election are trying to mess with the 2026 midterms.
He mentioned new, unverified documents that say China got access to 220 million U.S.
voter records. He also claimed there’s some “raw intelligence” that Beijing tried to create fake ballots for Joe Biden.
People from both political sides pointed out the truth: voter data like that is either public or can be bought directly from the states.
And the intelligence he mentioned hasn’t been checked by anyone trustworthy.
But that didn’t stop Trump from using his usual words — “rigged and stolen,” “corrupt,” and “cover-up.” These are the same phrases he’s used since he lost the 2020 election in a fair way.
Markey didn’t agree.
He said, “Trump must be impeached for undermining and subverting our free and fair elections,” on X.
But what really should worry everyone is his next sentence: “And when he sends ICE agents to the polls, then we must turn civic action into civil disobedience and take to the streets.
Sit in.Protest.Withhold our labor.Everything must be on the table.”
Read that again.
A current U.S.senator is saying it’s possible that federal immigration agents could be sent to intimidate voters at polling stations in November.
This isn’t the first time Markey has raised the alarm.
Earlier in April, after Trump said he wanted to “wipe out the civilization of Iran,” Markey called him “unstable” and “a clear and present danger…to the American people and the world,” and he also pushed for impeachment and the use of the 25th Amendment at that time.
Trump isn’t just spreading election lies.
He’s setting things up again — just like what led to January 6th — for refusing to accept election results he doesn’t like, this time with federal agents as the enforcers.
Senator Markey is sounding the alarm.
The big question is whether enough people are paying attention before it’s too late.
