Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth after two U.S.service members were killed in an Iranian attack in Jordan.Hegseth posted on X late Saturday, reacting to the deaths. He wrote, “Godspeed, heroes.Their sacrifice only stiffens our resolve.”
Greene disagreed with Hegseth using the word “sacrifice” to describe the killings.
She posted on X, calling out both Hegseth and President Donald Trump. She wrote, “Sacrifice??What the fuck are you talking about??” She argued that the service members weren’t willing to sacrifice themselves and were killed because of the war being fought on behalf of Israel.
Greene has been a strong opponent of the Iran war.
In her post, she made her stance clear. She wrote, “Their deaths fuel your bloodlust for a senseless war.”
The service members were killed on Friday while defending against Iranian drone strikes.
One is still missing, and four others were hospitalized but have since been released.
President Trump responded to the deaths by speaking to NewsNation on Saturday.
He said, “It’s a very sad thing. We hate to see it happen…It’s in service to our country…we’re never going to allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon.”
