Kaitlan Collins gave a strong warning about Donald Trump’s recent win in the midterm election case.The Supreme Court supported Trump in a lawsuit brought by 23 states, mainly led by Democrats.The case was about Trump’s executive order, and the court said the challenge against him didn’t have enough legal basis.
The ruling effectively gave Trump more control over mail-in voting.
His administration could decide who can use mail-in ballots or who’s not allowed to.
In her segment on The Source, Collins reported on this.
She said, “The Supreme Court gave President Trump a win on his plan to restrict mail-in voting with new rules for the U.S.Postal Service and who gets a mail-in ballot.”
Collins called this the “President’s crusade,” but she also reminded viewers that Trump had used similar methods before.
On the other hand, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson criticized the decision.

In her dissent, Jackson called it a “nightmare,” saying it “needlessly injects chaos and uncertainty.”
Collins also had a panel discussion on this.
Ben Ginsberg, a Republican lawyer, said Trump didn’t really have the legal “authority” to do this, based on what the Constitution says.He added, “Congress never gave the authority to say who can vote or not vote to the U.S.Postal Service.”

Elie Honig, a senior legal analyst from CNN, said the ruling didn’t settle the “Constitutional issue.” He explained, “The states who sued to block this… haven’t shown enough specific harm for the court to rule on this case yet.”
Ginsberg also thought Republicans might complain about this later.
He added, “Republicans are the older party, and older people like to vote by mail.”
According to The Associated Press, the court didn’t say that Trump’s executive order would now be followed.
Instead, it stopped the legal actions against him for now.
The majority in the Supreme Court wrote, “The Court’s decision on this case doesn’t mean any actions taken by the government to carry out the order are automatically legal.
On that, time will tell.”

Besides Justice Jackson, two other liberal judges also disagreed with the ruling.
The news outlet noted that Trump focused on mail-in votes, saying they led to fraud without strong proof.His executive order would have his administration make a list of voters, including those who would only get mail-in ballots from the Postal Service.
