On one hand, I like that the Pope supports peace, and I think that’s one of his main roles. On the other hand, how can you say God isn’t on the side of those who use weapons? Vance said at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia. “Was God on the side of the Americans who freed France from the Nazis?”
Unfortunately for Vance, the United States under Trump is more like Germany in that comparison than like the Allied powers who stormed the beaches of Normandy.
The Iran War was started on Israel’s behalf to weaken and destabilize a regional enemy so they can take over more land without resistance. We’re seeing that happen in Lebanon right now.
“Was God on the side of the Americans who freed Holocaust camps and rescued innocent people from those who had survived the Holocaust?”
Vance continued. “I certainly think the answer is yes, and—”
Then an audience member shouted: “Jesus doesn’t support genocide, J.D.” Vance stopped and turned to the person.
“I agree.
Jesus Christ does not, I agree, Jesus Christ certainly does not support genocide, whoever yelled that out from the dark,” the vice president said. “He certainly does not. I think that’s pretty easy. I think that’s a pretty easy principle.”
“Why are you committing genocide in Gaza?
” the man pressed.
The Trump administration has approved the worst atrocities by the Israeli government in Gaza, Lebanon, and now Iran.
According to the International Association of Genocide Scholars and Amnesty International, Israel’s actions in Gaza qualify as genocide. Trump refuses to stop it and continues to send them bombs and weapons.
“Okay, so here’s a guy, let me just say this,” said Vance, using the whiny, angry tone he often uses when cornered.
This— This is a guy—”
The audience, full of conservative supporters, began to boo.
“No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,” said Vance.
“First of all, first of all, random dude who’s shouting, can I finish my point and then I’ll respond to what you just shouted? Is that okay?”
Vance then shifted to criticizing the Biden administration, which seems to be all the White House is doing now.
They’re in power but won’t take responsibility for their harmful actions.
“You’re killing children!”
the audience member yelled out, cutting through all of Vance’s dishonest arguments.
That’s what it all comes down to.
This administration is killing innocent men, women, and children while pretending to be Christian. Jesus would be horrified.
