Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan’s book, which gives an inside look at the second Trump administration, is selling a lot, and the person at the center of the story isn’t very happy about it.
In a long, crazy rant on Truth Social, Trump seems really upset about the book, especially about the female reporter, Maggie, calling her “Magot” and saying she keeps “spewing out garbage.”
He called the book another “Margot” [sic] “Con Job,” saying it’s “mostly made up, Fake News, largely fiction.”
He also listed out some of the things he thinks the reporter got wrong, like the election, the Russia story, and almost everything else.
Then he reminded everyone again that he “WON THE ELECTION, BIG,” even bringing up swing states and the popular vote, even though the popular vote was actually close.
He also claimed that “they don’t have the audio tapes that they imply they have,” but so far, the reporting in the book has been pretty strong.
At this point, Haberman and Swan should just send him a thank-you card for all the free publicity, even if they don’t need it.
Like many journalists before her, Maggie should see this as a sign of success.
She and Swan have hit a nerve with Trump, and people are watching closely.
