Breakfast Club host Charlemagne spoke out against the ugly comments made by the winner of Trump’s UFC birthday fight, who called the former First Lady “a man.” This was a shocking example of racism and transphobia.
Charlemagne started by saying, “Every time you bring up the Obamas, you remind people of what’s missing from the White House now.
The Obamas set a standard for decency, class, poise, and intelligence. That’s not here anymore. You didn’t need to agree with them politically to see they were a master class in dignity and grace under pressure.”
He continued, “Now that standard is in hell.
Satan and his demons use that bar to limbo. They got that bar down there, and they cha-cha slide to it.How low can they go?Can they go down all the way to the floor? How low can they go?Can they bring it to the top?”
“No, they can’t.
The bottom is their ceiling. And people like Josh Hokit remind us of that every chance they get. This event was supposed to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.”
“Okay, the Declaration of Independence says all people are created equal and have rights like life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
This was a reminder that Josh Hokit and others don’t see Black people as equal.”
“It’s really that simple.
This was his way of putting the first lady down and reminding us that they don’t see us as equals.Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are for them. This country has tried to dehumanize Black people forever.Every few years, someone comes along and brings out the same old playbook for a new generation.”
“But my brothers and sisters, don’t let ignorance dehumanize us.
Since some of us came to this country, they’ve tried to question our humanity, our intelligence, our beauty, and now even our gender. But don’t ever let someone else’s foolishness make you believe their lives are your own.”
“Never let someone else’s prejudice become your self-image.
Black people have survived way too much to let conspiracy theories and stereotypes define us.Their dehumanization is their sickness, not our identity.”
Preach!
These sad, pathetic racists have nothing to cling to, nothing to offer, and no value to our society.
Charlemagne is right to call them out.
Trump, Hokit, and everyone who found this funny are an example of the worst part of America.
It’s a sharp contrast to the multi-ethnic displays of unity and love that were shouted from the streets of New York after the Knicks’ championship win.
