President Donald Trump probably saw some Fox News on his 80th birthday because he quickly called for Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) to be impeached after the senator criticized his new Iran deal during an interview on the network on Sunday.
Reed told Fox News Sunday host Shannon Bream that Trump’s deal puts the U.S.
in a worse position than the one former President Barack Obama had made.
“We are negotiating against a country where the leadership has been eliminated,” Reed said.
“Now we have even more fanatical leaders who have much more invested and more to gain from this situation.Abandoning Obama’s Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action was a big mistake by the president.”
Reed shared his comments around 2:07 p.m.
ET.Trump responded two hours later by demanding that the senator be removed from Congress.
Trump posted:
Senator Jack Reed, a Democrat from Rhode Island, lied when he said the deal we just made isn’t as good as the Obama disaster known as the JCPOA.
Reed is either a complete fraud or just not smart enough.
The Obama deal was a path to a nuclear weapon for Iran, and it was one of the worst and dumbest deals ever made by the U.S.
Our deal is a wall that keeps Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon. That’s the complete opposite of what Obama did.Impeach Jack Reed!
Reed’s interview and Trump’s reaction happen as the White House insists that a peace deal with Iran will be signed on Sunday—or very soon after.
Trump was upset with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for possibly slowing down the deal earlier in the day, after Israel responded to a Hezbollah attack from Lebanon.
“Why did Bibi have to do a stupid attack?” Trump told Axios.
“I was so angry.I told him.He has no sense.I made that clear to him.”
