Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again said that Donald Trump stopped the release of the Epstein Files to protect his friends.
RadarOnline.com reports that the former congresswoman, 52, said she had a phone call with the president before the files were released, in which he admitted that his friends would be hurt if the files were made public.
She called it “absolutely ridiculous and unforgivable” that Trump officials tried to hide details from the documents about the late convicted sex offender.
Greene said Trump officials “don’t deserve the American people’s trust” and should be called “traitors.”
She added, “We’re talking about pedophiles and rapists from the elite class who never get held accountable for anything.
“So if they were paralyzed and scared and didn’t know what to do about releasing the Epstein files, these people are absolutely absurd,” she said.
“They don’t deserve the American people’s trust.”
She continued, “As a matter of fact, we should consider them as— they should be considered traitors.
The ones that refused to release the Epstein files want to cover up for pedophiles, and rapists and all sorts of disgusting things in the files.”
“Those are the traitors to the American people, and they should be ashamed of themselves.
“
Greene appeared on the show to discuss the Trump administration’s handling of the Epstein scandal, which is covered in excerpts from the upcoming book *Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump*, written by New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan.
A major claim in the book says top Trump officials, like Vice President J.D. Vance and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, met in the Situation Room to talk about Epstein.
Collins asked Greene if that meant Trump was a traitor.
She replied, “I’m saying exactly that.”
Collins said it was “pretty remarkable” to hear the former congresswoman say she thinks the president is a traitor.
Trump has not been charged with any wrongdoing related to Epstein and the files.
Greene said, “What is remarkable to me is that this administration, people we voted for who wanted transparency, the man who campaigned all over the country saying he’d be the one to drain the swamp, is the very man that fought to keep the Epstein files from being released.”
“And then he, in turn, called me the traitor because I fought to release the Epstein files.”
Greene, a hardline conservative, was one of only a few House Republicans who supported a bill to force the Justice Department to release the Epstein files.
Trump later signed the bill into law, despite initially opposing it, after pressure from Congress.
The Justice Department has since released millions of documents about Epstein.
