Sharp-eyed passersby in Washington D.C. were quick to note that large chunks of “American blue” paint were coming off the bottom of the Reflecting Pool, which just completed a wildly expensive renovation at Trump’s behest less than a week ago.
Trump explicitly insulted former Presidents Obama and Biden for leaving the pool “disgusting.”
Now look at it.
You couldn’t come up with a better metaphor for Trump’s entire presidency.
Maybe there was a scientific reason no other president had bothered wasting taxpayer money painting the pool blue and then immediately filling it with hydrogen peroxide.
