“You were calm and steady through everything, always focused and peaceful, always thinking about the bigger picture,” the former First Lady told her husband.”It’s ridiculous to even think that you could have lost your temper once, snapped at someone, or given in to pressure. It’s crazy to imagine you ever did anything but make our family and the whole country proud.”
We can think of another President who often loses his temper, gives in to stress the moment things get tough, and lashes out in anger on Truth Social every day.
There’s a really unfair standard here.Obama had to stay calm to avoid being labeled as the “angry Black man” stereotype. But as a privileged white man, Trump can yell and lose control whenever he wants, and no one even notices.
Mrs.
Obama kept going, saying, “No, you were too busy.I’m not done, y’all! Not done,” as the crowd cheered loudly.”So much to say.You were working for the people, saving our economy, expanding healthcare, ending a war, ordering the Bin Laden raid, saving the auto industry, and winning a peace prize.”
She paused and smiled, letting the crowd cheer.
Sitting nearby, Hillary Clinton laughed at the clear comment, and President Obama laughed with her.
It’s well-known that Donald Trump is really upset that Obama won a Peace Prize while he didn’t.
Trump tried really hard to get one, even asking foreign leaders to nominate him.
He was so mad about the Norwegian Nobel Committee not giving him the prize that he wrote to Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre: “Since your country decided not to give me the Nobel Peace Prize for stopping 8 wars, I no longer feel I need to focus only on peace.”
He lived up to that threat by starting a pointless, expensive, child-killing war against Iran that ended in a US defeat and surrender.
And Michelle wasn’t done talking.
“Keeping us safe from Ebola, regulating the banks, standing up for marriage equality, listening to science, and comforting the whole nation through terrible tragedies,” she continued, listing more of her husband’s successes.
“You did all of that with such grace, class, and calm that you made the hardest job in the world seem easy, like walking through this beautiful park.”
The part about Ebola is also a jab at Trump, who, with help from RFK Jr.
and Elon Musk, cut back on research and pandemic prevention. This was the most anti-science administration the country has ever had.
One thing is clear.
The Obamas will leave a lasting, bright legacy in this country.Trump will be remembered as a failure, someone who caused problems and was corrupt.
