Trump arrived at the New York/New Jersey Stadium during the pre-game events.
When the U.S.National Anthem was played and he was briefly shown on the stadium’s video screens, he got some scattered boos.He was sitting in a suite behind thick glass with Infantino, Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, administration officials, and his family.
Earlier in the tournament, Trump asked Infantino to look at a red card given to U.S.
player Folarin Balogun during the U.S.’s win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.FIFA decided to cancel the one-game ban, so Balogun could play in the U.S.’s match against Belgium, which the team lost 4-1 and got eliminated from the tournament.
Trump didn’t go to any of the earlier games in the World Cup, but he has been at a lot of sports events during his second term.
He was at Game 3 of the NBA Finals between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs, the 2025 Daytona 500, and the 2025 Super Bowl.
