97% of the donations were $100 or less, showing strong support from everyday people across Texas for Talarico.The campaign listed donors as “farmers, ranchers, oil workers, nurses, firefighters, and other working Texans who want to create a new kind of politics.”
Since starting his campaign in September, Talarico has raised $70 million with over 1.5 million donations from more than 780,000 individual contributors.
None of that money came from big corporate groups because Talarico won’t take their money.
He’s running to represent the hardworking people of Texas, who have been let down many times by Republican politicians who only care about getting rich and powerful.
Meanwhile, Talarico’s opponent, Ken Paxton, represents the worst of what this country has to offer.
He was impeached as Texas Attorney General by his own party for taking bribes, and his wife is leaving him because he cheated on her repeatedly.He has no morals, which is why he fits right in with the MAGA movement.
Paxton raised $9 million in the second quarter, which is a lot, but not even close to the huge amount Talarico brought in.
“I’m honored to stand with more than 780,000 neighbors who are tired of being split into teams — red versus blue, left versus right, rural versus urban,” said Talarico.
“We are uniting Texans into one team to change this broken, corrupt political system and lower costs for working families.”
