Rosie O’Donnell didn’t hold back when she hosted Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the second night, quickly taking aim at Donald Trump with sharp comments about two of his most unusual recent actions.
First, she talked about Trump’s embarrassing escape from Air Force One using a catering cart, which was supposed to be about an alleged Iranian plot to kill him during the NATO summit in Turkey.
“I’m so grateful to be filling in for Jimmy and to be hosting a talk show on network TV once again,” O’Donnell started.”This has been kind of a strange experience for me because all of a sudden I’m re-famous.I’m back in the spotlight, all thanks to President Oompa J.Loompa, who is watching us this evening from inside a catering cart.”
She didn’t stop there.
“You know, I couldn’t have done it without you, sweetie,” she added.”You brought me back, just like you did with fascism and the measles.”
Then O’Donnell moved on to Trump’s latest post on Truth Social, where he shared a map calling the Strait of Hormuz “NEW U.S.
Territory.” The strait is actually shared between Iran and Oman, and Iran has strongly opposed any American claim to it.
“Velveeto Corleone was up bright and early at 7 a.m.
this morning to post an image of a map listing the Strait of Hormuz as a U.S.territory, which makes literally no sense,” O’Donnell said.”I’ll put it this way: If the U.S.is in charge of the strait, then I’m also straight — and let’s face it, I’m not.”
O’Donnell and Trump’s feud has been going on for almost 20 years since her time on The View.
Trump once threatened to take away her U.S.citizenship after she moved to Ireland, and he even posted a changed photo on Truth Social claiming she’s “not a Great American.” O’Donnell responded with a sharp remark: “Hey Donald — you’re rattled again?18 years later, and I still live rent-free in that collapsing brain of yours.”
By her third bit of the monologue, O’Donnell had shifted focus away from Trump, ending with a pointed jab: “Right now he’s in the White House crying because I haven’t mentioned him” — without ever actually saying his name.
