The Washington Post is now saying that the “threat” that made Trump treat the whole press like enemies and hide in a catering cart while being secretly taken to a third plane was just nonsense.
The Post reports that the assassination threat was passed by the Israeli government to the CIA.
The CIA analysts didn’t think the information was strong and told Trump’s team that they weren’t sure. One official said the reports about threats against Trump’s life came from Israel, not the U.S., and they didn’t believe them much.
But Trump, who seems really scared by the many times his own supporters have tried to kill him, reacted in a big panic and overdid it.
Some people think maybe the Israelis made up the threat on purpose as a way to get back at Trump for making them agree to a ceasefire with Iran.
But it’s also a reminder that Trump lives in constant fear and worry, always looking over his shoulder, always scared that another attack is coming.
