A Reuters photographer took a sad photo of a man named Saly being taken from his home and walked into the cold by ICE agents, who didn’t even check who they were arresting.
Saly’s brother-in-law shared a frightening story on the Hmong American Experience Facebook page.
“ICE went to my brother-in-law Saly’s apartment, broke the door down, messed up the place, handcuffed him, and put a gun to his daughter-in-law’s head.
They wouldn’t let him wear proper clothes and forced him outside in freezing weather.”
“Saly is a U.S. citizen who was born here.
He has no criminal record.”
“ICE drove him around for almost an hour, questioned him, and took his fingerprints.
Only after all that did they find out he had no history of crimes and no reason to be held. Then they just dropped him off at his apartment like nothing happened.”
“We think they were looking for someone who used to live there, but instead of asking for ID, they used violence, intimidation, and shame.”
Every few hours, we hear another story about some crazy act of violence and fear from these bad guys.
Just one of these stories should be enough to start big investigations into ICE and make them leave the field — but it keeps happening again and again.
Our rights are being broken, and our citizens are being beaten, scared, and locked up without any reason.
How long do we have to keep suffering before someone takes action to stop this?
