New York Magazine wrote an article titled “Trump Tells Weird Lie About Where He Was on 9/11” to fact-check his claim.
Trump then said that during his remarks on the Ellipse, he talked about this, and everything he said was true.
He added that he is attaching clips of him at the site with his people, including his then head of security, Matthew Calamari, who has confirmed that Trump visited Lower Manhattan many times to talk to journalists.But the story keeps coming up.
It’s true that Trump visited the site a few days after the attack, and there are photos of him there.
But he said he was there right after the attack, which he is now rewriting because it was a clear lie.
He also attacked Maggie Haberman, saying she claimed he went to the Pentagon instead of the World Trade Center because he couldn’t speak in New York.
He said she knows this is false and that he has been to the ceremony many times, and no speeches are allowed.
But this is false.
Maggie Haberman is a respected journalist, and she reported that Trump refused to go to the New York event because he wouldn’t be allowed to speak.We have no reason to doubt her.Trump is likely lying to cover up his mistakes.
