Iran is accusing the Trump administration of trying to pull off a risky and sneaky move to make it look like the Strait of Hormuz is open and under U.S. control.
Iranian officials say two U.S. Navy destroyers used electronic warfare to hide, stayed close to the shore, and acted like smaller local ships — all to get through, take pictures, and claim the strait was open, making it seem like Trump had a win.
But Iranian forces kept track of them the whole time, aimed anti-ship missiles at the ships, and gave them 30 minutes to leave or be destroyed.
The ships had to turn back, according to Bloomberg.com.
This dangerous act broke the fragile ceasefire that had just been announced, showing clearly that the U.S. was trying to act dishonestly and provoke while pretending to be willing to negotiate.
The damage is huge.
After this move, how can any country — especially Iran — trust the U.S. again at the negotiating table?
Trump and Hegseth have made the U.S. look like a country that doesn’t play fair, and they’ve lost the hard-earned respect and leadership the U.S. once had around the world.
It’s a big downfall for the once-powerful United States of America.
