On his MS NOW show “The Last Word” last night, O’Donnell gave a strong speech about Trump’s post on his social media platform, Truth Social. In the post, Trump threatened to bomb Iranian power plants on “Power Plant Day” while shouting, “Open the F*ckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell,” and ended with “Praise be to Allah.” O’Donnell said this is exactly the kind of behavior that makes the 25th Amendment necessary.
He said, “This is why the 25th Amendment was written,” O’Donnell said, “to allow the vice president and a majority of the cabinet to take away the president’s power if he can’t do his job properly.”
He called Trump’s Easter message “pure warmongering, filthy madness” and said the framers of the 25th Amendment couldn’t have imagined a president acting “like an unhinged madman” until Trump came into office.
O’Donnell also refused to read the full post on air, saying it was “beneath my dignity.”
He added that it’s troubling that in today’s country, a news anchor has more dignity than the President of the United States.
O’Donnell is part of a growing group of officials and critics who think Trump has gone too far and is clearly unfit for the job, and even dangerous to the country and the world.
For example, former ally Marjorie Taylor Greene said Trump “has gone insane” and told Christians in the administration to “fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God.”
Senators Markey and Murphy, along with representatives Ansari, Stansbury, Pingree, and Kamlager-Dove, have all called for invoking the 1967 constitutional amendment that was created after the Kennedy assassination.
Now we have a president acting out in public, and even some of his own allies are finding it hard to ignore.
He is unfit for office, and he must be removed through any legal means possible.
