POLITICO reports that Todd Lyons, who is in charge of Trump’s personal security team, has been “hospitalized at least twice for stress-related problems.”
“The hospitalizations happened over the last seven months.
In one case in December, Lyons’ security team took him to a hospital in Washington and he was admitted for the night, according to one former and two current administration officials. During an incident in September, the three people said Lyons was hospitalized for at least one night,” says reporter Daniel Lippman.
The officials who shared this information with POLITICO said the pressure was coming from Trump’s top adviser, Stephen Miller, who apparently shouted at Lyons during his morning calls with the administration.
“One of the former officials said, ‘He would be visibly upset and having a hard time making the decisions that were needed to be made by the director.'”
We don’t feel any sympathy for Mr. Lyons, who clearly ignores the physical effects of his actions as he follows the cruel and inhumane orders of a crazy, evil person like Stephen Miller and a hateful, old racist like Donald Trump.
He could walk away anytime, but he doesn’t.
The anxiety and stress he’s going through is nothing compared to the fear and suffering that the tens of thousands of people held in ICE facilities experience every day, nothing compared to the trauma faced by the children who are given bad food and sleep on floors covered in urine under bright lights.
