Former Georgia congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene said the Trump administration is thinking about using nuclear weapons during meetings about the Iran situation. She left her job in the U.S.House of Representatives in January before her term ended because of a big disagreement with President Trump.
Even though someone else filled her seat with a MAGA supporter named Clay Fuller in a special election in May, Greene kept talking about politics.
She often criticized the president and his team over the last eight months.
Greene is against the war with Iran and has worked with other conservative lawmakers like Rep.
Thomas Massie and Tucker Carlson.
In a post on Truth Social, President Trump said the main goal is to stop Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon.
He wrote, “The number one Goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape, or form, a Nuclear Weapon.Thank you for your attention to this matter!”
The White House responded to her comments by calling her “Marjorie ‘Quitter’ Greene” and saying she’s “completely out of the loop.”
On X, Greene said the Trump administration was “discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran” in recent meetings.
She added, “Yes you read that correctly. It’s real.I’m not speculating, I know,” and called it “pure evil.”
They are discussing using nuclear weapons on Iran in strategy meetings.

Yes you read that correctly. It’s real. I’m not speculating, I know.
And it’s pure evil.
The last time a nuclear weapon was used was August 6th and 9th of 1945 on two cities in Japan, Hiroshima and…
White House Spokesperson Davis Ingle said Greene “has no idea what she is talking about.” He said she left her job in the middle of her term and is pretending to know what the president is thinking.
He said she should stop spreading “Fake News.”
Greene claimed the Trump administration was told by internal intelligence that Iran wasn’t close to making a nuclear weapon.
But Israeli officials told the president Iran was “weeks away.” She said the U.S.bombed Iran anyway, killing leaders and children, and now Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz. She said the administration is now thinking about using nuclear weapons against Iran, even though Trump says he’s won the war many times and the U.S.controls the strait.
Greene said using nuclear weapons would cause a “nuclear holocaust,” leading to worldwide conflict, economic depression, and suffering.
She called on the administration to end the war and said “ALL those in leadership right now” would be “fully responsible for the rest of human history.”
Greene is part of a group of conservatives who are criticizing the war in Iran.
She left the Republican Party recently, but she was one of the first MAGA allies to publicly oppose the Iran strikes after they happened in February.
On Feb.
28, Greene wrote on social media that her generation was “let down” by false promises of “America First” from the White House.Fuller, who replaced her, also focused on “America First” in his campaign.
She wrote, “We said ‘No More Foreign Wars, No More Regime Change!’ We said it on rally stage after rally stage, speech after speech.
We thought the victory won in 2024 would be finally time to put America First. And we thought that meant the common American man and woman and their children. Not the elites.America has suffered and they don’t even care.”
Some Republicans in Congress are also moving away from Trump as the conflict in Iran continues.
Retiring Senator Thom Tillis said lawmakers should “separate from the White House” on the war before the November midterms.
John Kennedy (R-LA) told reporters that Trump isn’t “always disciplined in his messaging” on the war, and many Americans are confused by the administration’s reasoning.
An internal memo from the Senate Republican Conference in July, reported by USA TODAY, told GOP senators to focus on gas prices and prioritize a message about lowering them.
In a previous statement to USA TODAY, White House spokesperson Kush Desai said, “While the President ensures that Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon for our national security, the President has been equally focused on unleashing prosperity for working-class Americans, from creating Trump Accounts to slashing job-killing regulations and taxes.”
