Donald Trump enjoys calling the United States the “hottest” country at the moment, and it seems Mother Nature might be paying attention. Weather forecasts suggest the temperature will be close to 90 degrees during Trump’s flashy birthday event, with high humidity and a 78% chance of rain just as the main event starts at 8 p.m., continuing throughout the night.
The temperature is expected to reach a sweltering 89 degrees during the day, with the high humidity making it even more uncomfortable for the 4,300 fans gathered under a temporary shelter on the lawn.
UFC president Dana White said the event will happen regardless of the weather.
“If it rains, we’re going. If it snows, we’re going. The only thing that will stop us is lightning.”
And lightning is a real concern.
If lightning is spotted within eight miles, the event will have to be evacuated for 30 minutes. That means fighters like Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje might be facing not just each other, but also heat, humidity, and heavy rain.
This expensive event is already showing signs of falling apart under its own overconfidence.
With sky-high ticket prices, top celebrities declining invitations, and the sheer audacity of holding an outdoor UFC fight in the brutal D.C. summer while spending $60 million on Trump’s personal birthday celebration, this is shaping up to be another major embarrassment for the most egotistical president in American history.
We expect Mother Nature won’t ignore this.
As George Costanza might say, the sky will be upset that day, my friends.
