Trump talked on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” on Thursday night about his plans if Democrats win back the House and Senate after the midterms. He said he would stop them from passing any bad laws for two years.
This is important because Trump is already thinking about how to handle a situation where the government is split between Democrats and Republicans as they try to keep control of Congress in the midterms.
He said, “I’ll end up being a blocker — I’ll block all their bad stuff for two years,” according to Laura Ingraham of Fox News.
He added, “It won’t be the same.I’ll be a blocker, what can I tell you?I’ll probably be able to make deals with them. They are going to want some stuff. You make deals. It’s one of those things.”
He also said the current election isn’t as bad as previous ones.
The interview happened while the GOP was holding a two-day midterm convention in Dallas, where Vice President JD Vance and Trump were expected to speak.
Overall, Trump spent much of the first night of the convention promoting the GOP and criticizing Democrats.
He also promised Americans $5,000 checks.
In the Fox News interview, he also mentioned he doesn’t feel regret about the Iran war, which is a hot topic for voters before the midterms.
He said, “I don’t believe in the word regret. You can always question yourself a little bit.And a few people have asked me that.If I had it to do again, I’d do exactly as I did.”
