It’s Labor Day Weekend, but President Donald Trump isn’t slowing down when it comes to criticizing one of his long-time opponents: Robert De Niro.
On Sunday, Trump posted an AI-generated image on Truth Social showing the famous actor from “Casino” wearing a red shirt that says, “Trump Is My President.” In the fake picture, De Niro doesn’t seem happy—actually, he looks quite upset.
But Trump said the T-shirt showed that even someone like De Niro was starting to understand.
This isn’t the first time Trump has used AI to mock celebrities.
Two months ago, he shared a funny AI video where he portrayed himself as a doctor treating MAGA-haters like De Niro, Rosie O’Donnell, and Whoopi Goldberg for something called “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”
But the back-and-forth between Trump and De Niro isn’t just one-sided.
De Niro recently criticized Trump for his strict immigration policies and his “stupid and inhumane wars,” saying it made it hard for him to be proud of being American.
At a June protest, De Niro said, “Our country isn’t so lovable right now.
I hate to say it, but loving our country is starting to sound like an abused spouse saying they love their abuser.”
He went on to say, “I can’t love a country that’s led by a racist, misogynist, xenophobic tyrant.
And let me just say it, I can’t love the country that’s led by Donald Trump.”
Another big moment in their feud happened last October when De Niro called Trump’s senior adviser Stephen Miller a “Nazi” during an interview on MS NOW.
“I guess he’s the Goebbels of the cabinet, Stephen Miller.
He’s a Nazi,” De Niro said.”Yes, he is, and he’s Jewish, and he should be ashamed of himself!”
Trump’s post about De Niro came as part of a series of AI images, including one where he suggested changing the name of New Mexico to “New America” and another where he was shown riding on horseback with George Washington.
