Thomas Massie did something that the Trump administration has avoided doing: he started naming people.
“More than a year has passed since the President signed the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and the government is still keeping over three million files secret,” said the Kentucky Republican on Monday.
“We want people who committed these crimes to be investigated and punished.”
Then he started reading out names.
“People like Jes Staley, Leon Black, Les Wexner, David Copperfield,” Massie said, going on with a list that also included Lapo Elkann, Tom Pritzker, Glenn Dubin, Frédéric Fekkai, Edoardo Teodorani, Ramsey Elkholy, and Prince Andrew.
He also named Lesley Groff and two men who have since passed away, Jean-Luc Brunel and Daniel Siad.
Massie made strong accusations against some of these people, including claiming that Prince Andrew “committed sex crimes in the United States as well.”
Andrew and several others named by Massie have denied doing anything wrong, and being listed in Epstein-related records doesn’t automatically mean someone did something illegal.
“Maybe hearing these names will make the Department of Justice do the right thing,” Massie said in conclusion.
He isn’t just relying on that.
Massie is also pushing another fight over the Epstein Files Transparency Act II.This new law would allow survivors, state attorneys general, and members of Congress to take the Justice Department to court if it refuses to release documents.
Massie is a Republican, and Trump has criticized him a lot for his constant efforts to get the Epstein files.
But at this point, Massie has no more patience.
The Trump Justice Department claims its big release of documents meets the law’s requirements.
Massie says millions of files are still hidden, and those who could be responsible for the crimes have yet to be held accountable.
