All that talk about him being “too progressive” or “too Muslim” just didn’t hold up.
A survey by Susquehanna Polling & Research shows El-Sayed is leading with 46% support, compared to Rogers’ 39% among likely voters.
9% are still unsure.
In Detroit and the areas around it that usually lean Democratic, El-Sayed has an even bigger lead, with 62% to 24%.
This poll is like a cold splash of water on Republicans who think Michiganders are too racist, too scared of Muslims, or too fooled to support someone named Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed.
It’s also a big hit on some centrist Democrats who won’t back El-Sayed because his Medicare for All plan hurts big insurance companies or because he speaks out against Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Most importantly, the poll shows Democrats are coming together behind El-Sayed, breaking the idea that some blue voters might switch to Rogers.
91% of self-identified Democrats now support him, and that number might go up as he explains his message better.Rogers has 90% support from Republicans.
Among Independents, El-Sayed is leading 46% to 24%.
The choice is clear.
Voting for Mike Rogers means voting for pedophiles, endless wars, and big data centers.Voting for Dr.Abdul El-Sayed means voting for less money in politics, more money in your pocket, and Medicare for All.
