Trump got really angry at a reporter this morning after being asked about his total lack of a clear plan to deal with the situation in Iran, as more people are being hurt and American military gear is being lost.
A reporter asked, “There are no signs that Iran wants to stop fighting—so, what is the plan?” The reporter seems to understand the situation better than the president of the United States.
Trump immediately got defensive and asked, “How do you know that?
Do you know something I don’t?” He clearly hasn’t paid attention to anything Iranian officials have said.
The reporter replied, “They keep attacking our allies and killing Americans,” pointing out the obvious to the president.
Trump got even more upset, shouting, “They want to meet desperately to end it because they’re getting beaten up.
You don’t get that when you only listen to your fake news.You don’t know anything!”
In reality, it’s Trump who doesn’t know anything.
Iran has made it very clear they have no intention of stopping their attacks or going back to talks—because why would they?
They already had a ceasefire agreement with Trump, which he threw away when he realized he’d have to follow through on the terms he approved.
Iran is in a stronger position militarily; America’s resources in the region are in bad shape.
Iran has been able to rebuild its missile stockpile while the U.S.is still waiting for parts for its interceptors, which could take years.
The war is very unpopular in the U.S., with a new poll showing Trump with a -40 approval rating for how he’s handling it.
American intelligence shows that more bombing won’t change the situation in America’s favor.
In fact, every bomb dropped only makes Iran more determined and strengthens their government more.
