The country woke up this morning to some sad news: the Trump administration sent 3,000 soldiers from the famous 82nd Airborne unit to the Middle East, adding to the thousands of Marines already heading there.
It looks like Trump is going to go ahead and start a war with Iran.
He’s too stubborn and too arrogant to admit that his plan to cut off Iran’s leaders didn’t work and that things have gotten way out of control.
The Iranians aren’t scared.
Ali Akbar Ahmadian, a top commander in Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, posted a message on Twitter that simply says:
“For years we’ve been waiting for the Americans to reach the designated points, and for more than two decades, we’ve been preparing for this moment with an asymmetric warfare strategy.
Now, we have only one message for the American soldiers: Come closer.”
Iran has been getting ready for this for a long time, while Trump and his group of people didn’t even make a backup plan when the Strait of Hormuz closed.
Our crazy, messed-up president is rushing headfirst into a terrible mess that will be way worse than the Iraq War.
There’s no reason for any of this to happen.
Congress needs to either use the 25th Amendment to remove Trump or pass a War Powers resolution to stop this disaster before it starts—right away!
