According to early data from an audience measurement company, there was a 12% drop in viewership across the seven most-watched networks: ABC, CBS, CNN, MS Now, NBC, Fox News, and Fox broadcast.
Trump managed to get 27.8 million viewers for his 108-minute speech, which was full of lies, rambling, and boring content.
That’s down from 31.45 million viewers for his joint speech with Congress last year. Not surprisingly, he had the most viewers on Fox News, with 9.1 million people watching.
These numbers are sure to make Trump very angry, and it seems likely he will take to his Truth Social platform to rant about the data, calling it “fake news” once the final numbers come out later this week.
But this drop isn’t really surprising.
Trump is a very unpopular president, and a recent Washington Post poll shows that 60% of Americans don’t approve of him. He has hurt the economy, sent masked groups into the streets to kill innocent people, broken our relationships with our closest allies, and still hasn’t fully explained the Epstein scandal because he is likely a pedophile. We have never had a worse leader.
