In July, the Trump administration released a major memo stating there was “no incriminating client list, no credible evidence of blackmail schemes, and no evidence that would justify looking into uncharged third parties.”
At least one of these claims has clearly been proven false, as British authorities took a rare step by arresting Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The statement from the Crown is striking when compared to what you might read if, for example, Trump’s brother were arrested on suspicion of being a pedophile.
The King wrote: “I have learned with the deepest concern about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and the suspicion of misconduct in public office.
What follows is the full, fair, and proper process by which this issue will be investigated in the right way and by the right authorities.”
He added: “In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and cooperation.
Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.”
There were no denials.
No frantic claims of a “Democratic hoax,” or a witch hunt, or deep state conspiracy. Nothing you’d hear from a Republican. Just respect and support for the law.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor isn’t the first person linked to Epstein to be arrested.
Former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland was also taken into custody for “gross corruption,” again showing the Trump administration’s false claims that there is “no evidence” to justify investigations are untrue.
This event is a shocking reminder of how deeply Trump has corrupted our justice system.
While the rest of the world is taking action to punish Jeffrey Epstein’s associates, Trump, Pam Bondi, and Kash Patel are using the full power of the U.S. government to protect Trump and all of Epstein’s accomplices. They all need to be held accountable and brought to justice.
