The hosts of *The View* have come together to criticize Attorney General Pam Bondi for her recent testimony before the House Judiciary Committee. This testimony was widely criticized and seen as overly dramatic. During the hearing, which was part of an investigation into the Justice Department’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein case, Bondi’s performance drew sharp reactions from some of the show’s guests.
“I’ve known Pam Bondi for many years. This was so personally disgusting and disappointing to me. I knew her in Florida as somebody who worked with everybody and who was nice,” Navarro said, referencing Bondi’s time as attorney general of her home state. “Watching her and this performance as like a high school version of Lady Macbeth, it was just unacceptable and a show she’s putting on for Trump.”
Republican cohost Ana Navarro was upset with Bondi’s behavior during the hearing.
She was particularly disturbed by Bondi’s refusal to turn around and acknowledge the victims of Epstein, who were sitting behind her during the questioning.
Whoopi Goldberg also disagreed with Bondi’s actions, especially her choice not to face the victims directly.
Navarro also pointed out that Bondi was unaware that Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, had been moved to a prison with better living conditions than other inmates.
“She never looked at them, she never acknowledged they were there,” Goldberg alleged. Bondi did, however, call those probing into the case “washed-up,” and even said in the moment that one member of the panel had “Trump derangement syndrome.”
Former federal prosecutor Sunny Hostin shared her own concerns about Bondi’s approach.
“Bondi said she had no idea that this had been done by the Bureau of Prisons. Girl, the Bureau of Prisons works for you!” Navarro exclaimed.
She mentioned that she had heard of several federal prosecutors resigning under Bondi’s leadership, and she believed this indicated that the Justice Department was in a bad state.
“So, the people of the United States have that person, who is deeply unqualified, who is deeply unserious, as their protection, as the person that is the chief law enforcement officer of the United States of America, I am disgusted,” asserted Hostin. “I am so saddened by what is the destruction of one of the biggest and strongest institutions in our country.”
