Attorney General Bondi, I’m happy you finally came here after hiding from this committee for four months. I understand why you were avoiding us,” said Garcia during a House Judiciary committee hearing.
“Whoa, I thought you were— hiding, chairman?”
Bond responded.
“You’ve been one of the worst attorney generals in our history and a tool for Donald Trump’s lawless and authoritarian agenda,” Garcia continued.
“And I’m glad the American people are finally seeing who you are, how you act, and the lack of good values you’ve shown.”
“You used the Department of Justice to target immigrants, working families, and anyone Trump considered an enemy, all to protect powerful criminals, including those in your own administration,” he added.
“My Democratic colleagues have focused on your cover-up of the Epstein files and your protection of pedophiles and child traffickers,” said Garcia.
“That alone is enough for impeachment, but there’s so much more to your corrupt time as attorney general.”
He then listed several of Bondi’s worst abuses of power, including directing prosecutors to focus on low-level immigration cases instead of corporate criminals and public corruption, and covering up a murder in his district.
Garcia also pointed to her approving the kidnapping and deportation of migrants to a “torture prison” in El Salvador.
We would only disagree with the congressman on one point in his strong criticism.
