Bad Bunny got a big round of applause and a standing ovation when he gave his Grammy acceptance speech. He started by talking about Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which made the crowd really excited.
The Puerto Rican rapper, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, was up for six Grammys for his new album called “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” which means “I Should Have Taken More Photos.”
After he joked around with the host, Trevor Noah, about his upcoming Super Bowl performance — he wasn’t able to do a live performance at the Grammys because of a contract with the NFL — Bad Bunny was announced as the winner for Best Música Urbana Album.
He said, “Before I thank God, I want to say — ICE out!”
The crowd immediately got up and cheered and clapped for about 30 seconds before he went on.
He continued, “We’re not savage, we’re not animals, we are not aliens, we are humans, and we are Americans,” which he said was about his fellow Puerto Ricans.
He also said, “Also, I want to say to the people, I know it’s tough to not — not to hate these days, and I was thinking sometimes we get contaminados — I don’t know how to say that in English.”

He added, “The hate gets more powerful with more hate.
The only thing that is more powerful than hate is love,” which made the crowd cheer again.
He ended by saying, “So, please, we need to be different.
If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don’t hate them, we love our people, we love our family, and that’s the way to do it — with love. Don’t forget that please. Thank you. Thank you, God, and thank you to the Academy.”
