Trump got angry with the head of the Pentagon and one of his top deputies because there weren’t enough weapons, which could stop the U.S.from fighting Iran, according to several reports.
Last week, President Donald Trump was really upset with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth about the shortage of weapons that might make it harder to carry out military actions against Iran.
He also got mad at the second-in-command of the Pentagon, which led to a meeting about the issue.
During a retreat at Camp David in Maryland, Trump asked Hegseth to explain why he was misled about the military’s weapon shortage, which is now threatening the bombing campaign against Iran, according to The Washington Post.
The Pentagon has used up a lot of its missiles and other weapons in the war with Iran, including long-range missiles and air-defense systems.
Trump told Hegseth during the retreat that he thought the shortage had been fixed, according to the Post.
After talking with Hegseth, Trump called Deputy Defense Secretary Stephen Feinberg on Friday and demanded to know how the weapons shortage was being fixed.
He was upset because the shortage was affecting combat operations and even suggested Feinberg should be fired.
The call led Feinberg to quickly arrange a meeting with top military and defense officials to deal with the weapon shortage.
Four people told NBC News that Feinberg has been leading efforts to fix the issue.
A Pentagon spokesperson, Sean Parnell, denied the reports of a weapon shortage, saying such claims help enemies provoke U.S.
troops.
“America’s military remains the most powerful fighting force on earth.
We have everything required to strike at the time and place of the President’s choosing,” Parnell said.He added, “Any adversary who confuses media noise with American weakness will discover the truth the hard way.”
The Pentagon has come under more attention for not being open about the effects of Trump’s long war with Iran.
Hegseth has denied that weapons are running low, held no press conferences, reclassified some casualties, and didn’t share how many targets were hit by recent U.S.strikes.He also asked for billions of dollars to keep the war going.
On Sunday, Trump said he called off a big military operation he called “the biggest attack since World War II” so that he could talk with Iran and Gulf allies about reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Iran said they weren’t talking with the U.S.but were instead speaking with Oman about such a deal.
On Thursday morning, Trump claimed on Truth Social that the U.S.
has “massive amounts” of weapons and that “large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the U.S.as needed.”
He wrote, “The ‘leakers’ of these treasonous statements are being hunted down.
Long term jail sentences will be sought!”
Later that afternoon, Trump said he is “extremely happy” with Hegseth’s work, even though he didn’t mention Feinberg’s name.

It is known today that the Pentagon is letting our missile program get extremely low. With the war in Afghanistan and Trump’s war with Iran, Trump is not having the Security weapons built. And now Trump is lying, saying we have plenty. Trump Lies.
A congressman from California on MSNOW tonight said Trump and Hasbeth are lying about death in IRAN and our weapons..
Who are Trump and the US Republican Senators lying to the Citizens, and for whom? Putin, North Korea, or Saudi Arabia?
