Marjorie Taylor Greene has spent years battling Ilhan Omar over nearly everything in American politics. But the former Republican congresswoman has now found herself defending one of her fiercest Democratic rivals — and directing her anger squarely at Donald Trump’s White House.
The remarkable reversal came after The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday that the Trump administration was investigating Omar’s immigration history in an effort to build a case for stripping her of U.S. citizenship and potentially deporting her.
Federal agents had searched Omar’s Washington, D.C., home on Monday, seizing electronic devices, documents and her passport as part of an investigation into whether information on her family’s decades-old immigration paperwork was inaccurate.
Omar has denied committing immigration fraud. No court has ruled that she obtained her citizenship unlawfully.
Greene, who has become an increasingly outspoken critic of Trump, wasn’t impressed by the administration’s latest move.
In a furious October 14 post on X, she acknowledged that she and Omar remain deeply divided on abortion, gun rights and other major issues.
But Greene wanted to know what pursuing Omar’s deportation would actually accomplish for Americans struggling with everyday expenses.
She challenged the White House to explain how the investigation would lower gas prices, make health insurance affordable, reduce grocery bills or keep American troops out of another foreign war.
“People are so sick and tired of the bullshit,” Greene wrote.
And she wasn’t finished.
Greene went on to attack White House officials over the Jeffrey Epstein files, accusing the administration of failing to deliver the transparency and accountability she has repeatedly demanded.
Her comments were especially striking because Greene was once among Trump’s most devoted allies in Congress, while Omar has long been a target of Republican attacks.
Yet Greene’s message was unmistakable: even someone who disagrees with Omar on fundamental political questions can reject the administration’s pursuit of her citizenship.
The investigation itself has raised serious questions.
Me and Ilhan Omar are far apart policy wise. I’m pro life, she’s pro abortion. I’m pro 2A, she’s pro gun control. And on and on. But can someone tell me how pretending to get ready to deport Ilhan Omar is going to bring gas down under $2, make health insurance freaking affordable, make a family’s weekly grocery bill make sense, and stop sending our beloved military off to fight for another fucking foreign war??? People are so sick and tired of the bullshit. When you dumb mf’ers at the WH actually release the Epstein files and lock up the pedophiles and rapists you all hang out with, then we will start paying attention. Until then 🖕.

According to The Wall Street Journal, investigators are examining whether Omar’s age was accurately recorded during her family’s naturalization process. Omar arrived in the United States from Somalia in 1995 and became an American citizen in 2000.
The reported objective of building a case for denaturalization remains an investigative goal, not a legal finding.
The controversy deepened Friday when Omar’s attorneys demanded the return of property seized during the search of her home.
They accused federal authorities of failing to follow restrictions imposed by the judge who authorized the search and argued that the investigation was politically motivated, particularly because Omar is seeking reelection in November.
The Justice Department disputed those accusations, maintaining that agents and prosecutors complied with applicable court orders and legal requirements.
Trump, meanwhile, has denied personally directing the investigation, even as he has continued making harsh public attacks on Omar.
Greene’s intervention does not make her a supporter of Omar’s political agenda. She was explicit about their differences.
But that is precisely what makes the episode so unusual.
One of Trump’s former MAGA champions looked at an investigation targeting a longtime political enemy and decided the White House deserved the criticism instead.
And with the midterm elections approaching, Greene’s message was a reminder that the administration’s critics are no longer coming exclusively from the Democratic Party.

Trump’s habit of Doubling Down in his attacks on his critics whoever they are is just generating more criticism of him to which he responds by Doubling Down in his attacks on the sources of the criticism wherever those sources may be on the political spectrum which weakens him politically even more. But he is The Commander In Chief of the most powerful Military in The World so that is why he just keeps on Doubling Down in his attacks on his critics whoever they might be without a worry in the world apparently. Amen?
