Jimmy Kimmel has found another way to turn Donald Trump’s White House into late-night comedy.
And this time, he recruited his own wife to help him do it.
During Thursday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Kimmel’s monologue was suddenly interrupted by a woman marching onto the stage carrying an absurd collection of gear — golf clubs, a laptop, phones and an oversized bag.
Her name?
“Natalie.”
Anyone who has followed Trump’s White House closely probably understood the joke immediately.
The character was an unmistakable parody of Natalie Harp, Trump’s 35-year-old executive assistant and one of the most constantly visible members of his inner circle.
But Kimmel’s version was about to take Harp’s famously intense devotion to Trump and push it into increasingly ridiculous territory.
And before the sketch was finished, there would be one additional detail that made the entire joke considerably funnier.
Kimmel introduced his new assistant.
She immediately responded by calling him her “guardian and protector.”
That wasn’t a phrase the writers simply pulled out of nowhere.
The real Harp has reportedly used remarkably similar language about Trump.
According to reporting about letters Harp wrote to Trump, she has referred to him as her “Guardian and Protector in this Life” and written intensely devoted messages including: “You are all that matters to me.”
Kimmel’s “Natalie” took that devotion and ran with it.
The fake Natalie hovered around Kimmel, fussed over his clothes and offered to post messages for him — an obvious nod to Harp’s real-life role helping Trump with Truth Social and supplying him with printed news and social-media material.
When Kimmel asked her to sit down, she planted herself on the floor at his feet.
Things only got stranger from there.
Eventually, Kimmel asked Guillermo to take his excessively devoted assistant backstage.
She was horrified.
“I can’t hear you backstage. I can’t smell you backstage. I can’t wipe you backstage,” she protested.
Then came the line that made the entire sketch work.
“Your wife doesn’t deserve you!”
There was just one problem.
The woman saying it WAS Kimmel’s wife.
“Natalie” was actually Molly McNearney — Kimmel’s real-life wife, as well as an executive producer and co-head writer of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
So Kimmel’s actual wife dressed up as Trump’s famously devoted assistant…
…only to announce that Jimmy Kimmel’s wife didn’t deserve him.
That is commitment to the bit.
But underneath the absurdity was a recognizable target.
Harp has become an unusually prominent figure in Trump’s orbit. She has been nicknamed his “human printer” because of her practice of supplying him with printed articles and other material, and she has helped manage posts on his Truth Social account.
Her extraordinary proximity to the president — and reports about the intensely loyal language she has used toward him — have increasingly attracted public attention.
Kimmel simply took those documented elements and turned the dial all the way up.
And having his own wife deliver the final punchline?
That was the part that made the whole thing land.
