He said, “Because the judge was extremely unfriendly to Jeanine, and frankly, I think she choked.” He claimed the judge was being unfair to Pirro and her department, and he thought she was unable to handle the situation.
Trump didn’t name the judge but appeared to be referring to D.C.Superior Court Judge Todd Edelman, who had previously warned the government that continuing the repair work without expert experts examining the pool could be dangerous.

Olympic canoeist who was charged with felony vandalism for tearing up part of the reflecting pool’s newly installed protective liner.He could have faced up to 10 years in prison.On Friday, Pirro’s office decided to dismiss the charges, explaining that new evidence made it hard to prove the damage was done on purpose and beyond a reasonable doubt.Hearn’s lawyers argued that he was being made a “scapegoat” for the troubled renovation.

Pirro’s filing pointed to a “botched installation” by the contractor who lined the pool, contradicting weeks of statements from Trump and his administration that the damage was from sabotage.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum had previously tweeted that his department gave prosecutors “expert and eyewitness testimony to the damage done by vandals.” Trump echoed that stance, saying he “disagreed 100%” with Pirro and insisted “the major damage was caused by VANDALS.”

By Monday, Trump’s frustration had shifted to how Pirro handled the case in court.

The reflecting pool has been a key project for Trump, who has often highlighted the renovation efforts as part of a broader beautification plan for Washington.
On Monday, he gave a detailed account of the pool’s history, saying it was built in 1922 and had leaked since opening.He claimed the Biden administration spent $58 million to fix the leak by drawing water from the Potomac River, describing the method as leaving the pool “putrid.” Trump said he directed Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to oversee a new repair using “high grade swimming pool type of material” instead of the original stone lining.

He also claimed that vandals had used sharp tools to cut into the pool’s liner and had spray-painted numbers onto the grass after the July Fourth fireworks display.
He referenced aerial photos showing numbers “8645” and “8647” written into the lawn and said the damage happened “the day after” the White House’s Fourth of July celebration, which he described as the largest fireworks display in the world.

Fact-checkers have questioned Trump’s account of the damage.
FactCheck.org noted in June that the White House had not provided evidence to back up claims of a “long gash” or a series of gashes in the pool’s liner, a claim Trump has repeated.The National Park Service said the pool’s liner was cut with a sharp object, but investigators concluded the overall damage was due to installation issues, not vandalism.
