Tom Selleck’s light criticism of President Donald Trump, along with his claim that he stays away from politics, upset a lot of people on Monday.(Watch the video below.)
The actor, who was once famous for “Magnum, P.I.” and “Blue Bloods,” had a good relationship with his favorite president, Ronald Reagan, and was also part of the NRA board in the past.
These things usually point to someone being conservative. But when it comes to his opinion on Trump, it’s not so clear.
CNN’s Elex Michaelson managed to get some attention from the ex-“Friends” actor.
He pointed out Selleck’s connection to the Reagans and then moved to the current president of the GOP.
“How do you feel about him and what he’s doing?” Michaelson asked the 81-year-old TV icon.
“Well, he’s certainly a mixed bag,” Selleck replied. “I stay out of the current political world. Why piss off half the country when you’re in the business of entertaining people?”

People criticized Selleck on both counts.
They said he was secretly a Trump supporter and criticized him for trying to stay out of the news.
One viewer said, “Lol, that’s what people say when they don’t want to admit they voted for Trump,” and called him “maga.”
Another said, “Politics doesn’t stay out of you.
It affects you and the ones you love every day.Staying out of politics isn’t an option if you really care about people.”
In 2016, praise for Trump and a “fuck you” to his opponents were wrongly linked to Selleck.
In reality, most of the words were from actor Jon Voight.
