After Melania Trump’s documentary was released, the First Lady is getting ready to bring back her team for more content about her, Claire Guinan wrote in Jezebel. This comes after Melania’s senior advisor, Marc Beckman, said Amazon is moving forward with a new docuseries about her.
Guinan pointed out that this is another sign that Jeff Bezos is trying to get closer to the MAGA White House.
He’s giving away free stuff to Trump’s wife, even though it doesn’t seem like a smart business move. The first “Melania” film only made $16.7 million with a $40 million budget, and that’s not even counting the $35 million spent on marketing. It also has a really low rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with just 10% of people liking it.
It’s clear that no one actually wants to watch pro-Melania stuff, but Amazon is still making more because it’s a legal way to give money directly to the Trump family.
Guinan asked, “What will the docuseries have that the movie didn’t?” According to Beckman, the new series will give a “completely different look” at Melania.
She joked that it’s not just because Melania looks different in different lights or her big hat hides part of her face.
She also suggested that the docuseries should include more about Melania’s hat collection, her crypto coin, or her odd ideas about replacing teachers with robot humans.
She said that if Melania is more of a performance artist than a real person, this could be the proof. But she also thinks it will just be more propaganda from the Trump regime.
Guinan joked, “I never thought I would be wishing for fewer women in film, but here we are.”
Jimmy Fallon also chipped in, saying, “Well, guys, after putting out the movie ‘Melania’ earlier this year, Amazon is now working on a new docu-series about the First Lady.” He added, “They have to keep making shows about Melania so Trump isn’t lying when he says, ‘I just saw Melania.’”
