House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries talked about Trump’s shocking remarks that he “loved” the 4.2% inflation, which is making prices go up and hurting working families, making it harder for them to buy food. He made it clear to the American people that one party really cares about them, and the other doesn’t.
“Let me explain the Democratic stance on the economy,” Jeffries said.
“First, the affordability crisis is real.
It’s not a fake issue.”
“Second, House Democrats care about how much money people have in their pockets.”
“Third, Democrats do not like inflation.
In fact, we are working hard to fix the broken economy that Donald Trump has caused for the American people.”
“Donald Trump and the Republicans promised to lower the high cost of living from the start.
But the costs in the United States have gone up, not down. Housing prices are way too high. Grocery prices are out of control. Gas prices are up. Healthcare premiums and insurance costs are also rising. Childcare and utility bills, along with everyday goods, are getting more expensive.”
“The U.S. is way too expensive.
The affordability crisis is real. House Democrats care about people’s finances. We are committed to bringing down the high cost of living. And we do not, in any way, support the inflation that Donald Trump and Republicans have caused for the American people.”
It’s clear that we don’t like it either, as shown by the low approval ratings Trump keeps getting every week.
After all the complaints about inflation during the Biden years, it’s shocking to see Republicans be so cold and indifferent to how bad inflation has been.
Hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for the American people.
Democrats care, and Republicans don’t.
