Former Trump administration official Ty Cobb talked at length on Saturday about what he called President Donald Trump’s “frontal lobe illness.” He said the signs of this issue were clear when looking at how Trump acted during different periods of his time in office.
Cobb said, “He’s always been a malignant narcissist, but now that narcissism has no frontal lobe control.” He made these comments during a video interview with former MSNBC host Mehdi Hasan, which was shared by Zeteo on Saturday.
Cobb worked as an attorney for the first Trump administration and was part of the White House team during the Mueller investigation, which looked into Trump’s dealings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and possible interference in the 2016 election.
He reported directly to Trump and was asked by Hasan if he thought Trump was genuinely suffering from cognitive mental decline.
Cobb answered bluntly, “The cognitive decline is real.”
He explained, “You can see it in the things he posts, like the despicable memes about Obama being arrested in the Oval Office, or him in a fighter jet throwing excrement on the No Kings protestors.
His remarks about El-Sayed, and the way he behaves, all of these things show a serious loss of dignity for the presidency and have harmed our country’s reputation globally.These are clear signs of cognitive decline.”
Cobb went on to say that Trump’s behavior has become more erratic, which he believes is a sign of what he calls a “frontal lobe illness.”
He added, “Many of these incidents happen between 2 and 4 in the morning, and he sometimes falls asleep during cabinet meetings or public events.
All of these things point to frontal lobe illness.”
Trump has previously criticized Cobb, calling him a “real loser” and “one of the worst lawyers in Washington, D.C.” He also claimed he “hardly knew” Cobb and called him a “whackjob.”
