Levin said, “I haven’t used TMZ’s YouTube channel to talk about my personal feelings about issues, but I’m going to do that today.” He added, “Seeing Anthony Fauci refuse to answer questions in a congressional hearing was one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve seen in government in my lifetime. And this is something we need to think about seriously.”
He continued, “I want to be clear from the start.
I have issues with how the CDC handled the COVID-19 crisis.I think they hurt kids and adults, and I don’t think they did it on purpose.I think they made mistakes because they were being too careful and sometimes said things they weren’t sure about.I have personal problems with how the pandemic was handled.”
“But I also want to say that Anthony Fauci has been a great public servant for decades.
In the 1980s, I lost many friends to AIDS, which was a painful death. But I also had friends who survived because Anthony Fauci was willing to try new drugs in a different way. That saved lives.”
“He has done a lot over the years to stop diseases and save lives, not just in the U.S., but around the world.
He could have made more money outside of government, but he chose to stay and serve.”
“Now, members of Congress, including Rand Paul, are acting like they’re on a witch hunt.
And I have to say, the best thing I can say about Rand Paul is that he’s being honest. He has said, over the years, that he wants Anthony Fauci in jail. He’s said it out loud. That’s the point of this hearing. That’s why they’re doing it.”
“They want to take something Anthony Fauci says and call it perjury, and they want to prosecute him, convict him, and throw him in prison.
That’s the real reason for this hearing. There’s no other reason.”
“There could be other things they could ask him, but he can’t answer because no matter what he says, it won’t matter.
If you can prosecute someone for something as harmless as finding seashells on the beach, then you can certainly prosecute someone for what they say in a congressional hearing.”
“That’s the kind of climate we’re in.
We’re in a Senator Joseph McCarthy kind of time, where people are scared they might get in trouble for what they say, no matter what, if they’re on the wrong side of someone in Congress or the administration. That’s where we are right now.”
“We’re in a dark period in America,” he concluded.
More public figures need to speak out like this right now.
Republicans are blaming Fauci because they can’t deal with the truth that Donald Trump was directly responsible for the pandemic getting as bad as it did.He downplayed the virus from the beginning, ignored experts, and spread dangerous misinformation.
Meanwhile, Dr.
Fauci did everything he could to save lives, telling people to wear masks, stay apart, and treat the coronavirus as a serious threat. He’s an American hero.
