Laura Ingraham spent yesterday sitting directly behind Dr. Anthony Fauci during his Senate testimony, making sure the cameras caught every eye roll, smirk, head shake, and exaggerated facial expression.
Less than 24 hours later, The Daily Show turned those theatrics into one of the most devastating examples of hypocrisy imaginable.
Instead of attacking Ingraham with commentary, the show simply let Laura Ingraham do it herself.
Jordan Klepper rolled a supercut that paired footage of Ingraham mugging for the cameras behind Fauci with years of clips from her own Fox News broadcasts criticizing other people for… doing exactly the same thing.
As Ingraham rolled her eyes during the hearing, viewers heard her own voice condemning politicians for “smirking,” “rolling their eyes,” “mugging,” and being “arrogant and rude, always performing for the cameras.”
The montage only became more brutal as it went on.
When cameras caught Ingraham taking a selfie during the hearing, the show immediately cut to an old Fox News clip of Ingraham mocking someone else for “taking a selfie like a junior high school girl.”
Klepper summed it up perfectly:
“Watching Laura Ingraham make faces at Fauci’s hearing while listening to Laura Ingraham complain about other people making faces.”
Many of the clips came from Ingraham’s own broadcasts, where she used those exact criticisms against Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, former CNN correspondent Jim Acosta, New York Attorney General Letitia James, and others.
No hidden camera was needed. No leaked recording. No undercover investigation.
The Daily Show simply pressed play on Laura Ingraham’s own greatest hits—and let her expose herself.
