Stephen Miller is a racist. He supports white nationalism.White nationalists have taken over the federal government. The Great Replacement Theory influences their immigration policies, said Glaude on “Democracy Now.”
He added, “This idea is actually part of the language used in the legal decision or opinion that Justice Alito wrote.
We need to call them for what they really are.”
The professor is completely correct.
The Republican effort to end birthright citizenship under Trump ran into problems with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling. However, we should be very worried that three justices, including Thomas, supported the White House’s actions that go against the Constitution.
This agenda is not subtle.
Trump and Miller want to end birthright citizenship because they are worried that the white population is becoming smaller. For Trump, the issue is important because his racist supporters care about it.For Miller, it’s an ideological belief in race-based fascism.
Glaude explained, “In many ways, this is like the 1920s.
The United States often claimed that the ‘monsters’ were in Germany, not realizing that the German monster was looking to the U.S.in the 1920s.”
The host asked, “Explain.”
Glaude responded, “What I mean is that the Klan was reborn in 1915.
Their main motivation is rooted in nativism—a strong belief in being 100% American. They wanted immigration from Nordic countries, not from places like Italy or the Irish, whom they considered suspicious.”
Again, Glaude is accurate.
The Trump administration has openly tried to reduce immigration from Muslim and non-white countries. The President once said he wanted more immigrants from ‘nice’ countries like Denmark and Switzerland. They also specifically preferred white immigrants from South Africa.
“They see the country as a white republic,” he continued.
“The most important law of the Klan, which they were most proud of, was the Johnson Reed Immigration Act and Nationality Act of 1924.That law set clear quotas to keep the country white. In 1926, the 150th anniversary of the nation, the Klan was allowed to hold its annual convention at the Philadelphia Exposition. They were going to celebrate the American flag and its 150th anniversary, and also burn a cross at the same time!”
Glaude said that the MAGA movement is carrying on this legacy.
They believe the country should be white. What we see with TPS and immigration policies is a major attack on two very important pieces of legislation that changed the course of the country.
“One was the Voting Rights Act of 1965, which has been greatly weakened.
The other was the Hart-Celler Act, the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, which ended the quotas from the 1924 Immigration Act,” he added.”This is a white nationalist agenda.Stephen Miller and others are simply racist, and we need to call them for what they are.”
We completely agree.
Conservatives often scream that it’s unfair to call them racist, but everything they do and say shows the truth.
